Save the date on 19th July 2024! Hermès will be presenting “On the Wings of Hermès”, an imaginary universe that will captivate all senses through its poetic and cinematic visions.
After its successful runs in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Shanghai, On The Wings of Hermes has finally arrived in Singapore this July. The cinematic experience, taking place at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from19 to 28 July 2024, highlights the overarching theme of lightness which is promiment in the Maison’s heritage and narrative.
Travel into the imaginary universe that’s conceived by Belgian directors Jaco Van Dormael and choreographer Michèle Anne De May, together with the Astragales dance company. The performance — which blends dance, object theatre, music and cinema — will be divided into seven sketches, each captured with its own landscapes and utopic worlds. Watch the creative brilliance come to life through graceful puppetry of twirling hands and a mini circus that comprises a cast of singing Hermès “Kelly” bags. Captured in real-time, the scenes are projected onto screens to create immersive illusory scenes.
“This work metaphorically illustrates the lightness that is omnipresent at Hermès; in the delicate hands of our craftspeople sewing with two needles at once, in the elegance of materials and in the subtle notes of a perfume. It is an experience which sparks the imagination, designed by the artisans of dreams,” expresses Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director of Hermès.
It is not too late to plan a trip down to Singapore to check out the magical experience and immerse into the world of Hermès through creativity and imagination. While you’re at it, be sure to stay on for the eponymous 35-minute film inspired by the performance, a magical extension of this poetic experience.
Don’t miss out on the performance (yes, it’s free). Book your visit to On The Wings Of Hermes HERE.
