Everything to know about J-Hope album and documentary <i>Hope on the Street</i>

This is a double delight moment for fans of BTS star J-Hope. The K-pop idol, who is currently serving in the Korean military, is releasing a special album, Hope on the Street Vol.1, and a documentary series in the next few weeks.

BTS’ label BigHit Music announced the release date of the album and dropped a teaser of the documentary on 19 February. The updates came as J-Hope celebrated his 30th birthday on 18 February.

J-Hope began his mandatory military service in April 2023. He is scheduled to complete his service by October 2024. A day before his birthday, J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, shared a series of his photos on Instagram Stories from his day out.

Album releasing in March

BigHit Music confirmed the release date of Hope on the Street Vol.1 in its 19 February announcement.

According to the music agency, the highly anticipated special album by J-Hope will be released on 29 March at 1 pm KST.

The special album will have a total of six tracks. It is expected that the track titles will be released in the weeks ahead of the release of the album.

The album is available for pre-order on Weverse shop, where it is priced at KRW 12,000 (approx. MYR 43).

Docuseries takes viewers on a trip around the world

A teaser of the docuseries was released by BigHit Music alongside the announcement of the music album.

The docuseries will have six parts and will also be released in March.

J-Hope had originally announced the docuseries, titled Hope on the Street, on BTS member Suga’s SUCHWITA show in July 2023.

In a statement, the agency said that the docuseries will “trail J-Hope’s dance journey” through the cities of Osaka, Paris, New York, Seoul and Gwangju as he meets street dancers.

The agency said that the album and the docuseries will “dive into the theme of dance, the core of J-Hope’s artistic roots and identity.”
