Unveiling Malaysia’s first Apple store at The Exchange TRX and everything they have to offer

After months of eager anticipation and mounting excitement amongst locals since The Exchange TRX opened its doors to the public last November, Kuala Lumpur proudly welcomes a landmark addition: the first-ever Apple store in Malaysia.

The buzz began immediately when the mall debuted, with visitors captivated by a uniquely designed pyramid-shaped structure with an oculus skylight. Speculations ran wild, and now we can finally confirm that this impressive edifice is indeed Apple’s inaugural store in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone for the tech giant’s presence in the country.

The moment has arrived—the hoarding boards are down, and the curtains have been drawn back, unveiling the store’s breathtaking interior. Strategically connected to The Exchange TRX’s central atrium, the store features a mesmerising three-dimensional layered roof adorned with horizontal glass panels and shading blades to minimise sun exposure. As dusk falls, the store then transforms, casting a warm, welcoming glow that beckons visitors inside. Within, a striking sculptural quartz and glass staircase elegantly spans three levels, inviting customers to explore, learn, and shop.

In keeping with Apple’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, this store operates entirely on 100% renewable energy and proudly maintains a carbon-neutral footprint. The design speaks of sophistication and quality, boasting a refined palette of high-end materials, including natural stone walls, polished stainless-steel columns, light terrazzo floors, and a timber ceiling, all contributing to an ambiance of serene elegance.

Yet, the allure of this Apple store extends beyond its architectural beauty. Many are curious about what distinguishes this location from other retailers offering Apple products. Fear not, as we delve into all the details, revealing the unique services and exceptional experiences awaiting both dedicated Apple enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.

Everything we know about the first Apple store in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX

The forthcoming outlet at The Exchange TRX will mark the tech giant’s sixth store in Southeast Asia, staffed by over 160 trained professionals ready to assist customers. This Malaysian location will offer the majority of signature services familiar to Apple Store patrons worldwide.

One notable service is the ability to schedule one-on-one product walkthrough sessions with a Specialist. These sessions offer personalised setup and support, assistance with switching to iOS, and affordability options like Apple Trade In, where customers can trade in their current device for credit towards a new one. Additionally, customers can get help selecting financing options to spread the cost of their new products over monthly payments with zero percent interest.

Apple The Exchange TRX aims to be an educational hub, hosting Today at Apple workshops and classes that are open to everyone, including non-Apple users. These free sessions cover a variety of topics, from basic how-to lessons to iPhone photography and videography tours leveraging the store’s picturesque location. Loaner devices can be provided upon request for those who don’t own an Apple device.

Another well-known service available at the new TRX outlet is the Genius Bar, where customers can receive hands-on technical and hardware support directly in the store. The store also features a dedicated Apple Pickup counter, simplifying the process for customers to order online and pick up their products at their convenience.

Events and promos exclusively available at Apple The Exchange TRX

To celebrate the opening, a special Today at Apple series called ‘Jom Discover’ will run from 22 June to 6 July. This series, featuring some of Malaysia’s most celebrated creators, will showcase the creative process and Apple’s range of products and services. Sessions include an exclusive performance by local girl group De Fam, a Capture Portraits on iPhone workshop with Jason ‘smashpop’ Goh, a Turn Ideas into Action on iPad workshop with Iman Azman, Video Magic on Mac with Adam Lobo, and Live Well with Nana Mohd and Apple Watch.

With the back-to-school season approaching, students and families can take advantage of Apple Education Pricing on Macs and iPads, available exclusively through Apple Retail. Additionally, eligible customers can benefit from the university student offer running through 30 September, receiving AirPods with the purchase of an eligible Mac or an Apple Pencil with an eligible iPad.

Apple The Exchange TRX will open to the public on 22 June at 10 AM. Customers are encouraged to explore curated content celebrating Malaysian creativity across Apple TV+, Apple Music, and the App Store.
