#Exposed: 5 Things you didn’t know about Ahirine Ahirudin

Ahirine Ahirudin has done it all, from writing and hosting to stunts and acting. Here are some tidbits you might not know about the star.

Here are five things you might not know about Ahirine Ahirudin:

#1 | Gina Carano in ‘Haywire’ inspired Ahirine to be an action actress.

“I watched Gina Carano beating people up in the ‘Haywire’ movie and ever since that day, being an action actress has always been a dream of mine,” Ahirine expresses. Carano’s portrayal as Mallory Kane in the film saw her stunts being performed by the mixed martial arts fighter herself.

#2 | Ahirine does kickboxing and muay thai.

Describing herself as a “super amateur fighter”, Ahirine got into muay thai and kickboxing so her punches and kicks will look better on the screens. Since then, she has competed in three fights. Her favourite move in the ring is “the right kick followed by a cross”.

#3 | Her first ever lead role was in ‘Tebus’.

From being a columnist for New Straits Times’ ‘Cars, Bikes and Trucks’ to a beloved action actress, Ahirine has done it all. Last year, she portrayed the character Ana in ‘Tebus’, her first leading role. The film, directed by Jason Chong, sees Ahirine play a jewellery chain heir at the centre of a kidnapping plot. On the role, Ahirine conveys: “It’s a mix of everything from action stunts to a roller coaster of emotions — something I never thought I would be able to do”.

#4 | Ahirine’s next leading role is in ‘Raya Emas: Salako Sacred Treasure’.

Slated to premiere on 16 September 2024, ‘Raya Emas: Salako Sacred Treasure’ will see Ahirine take on another major role — adding any career highlight to her list. Filmed completely in Sarawak, the movie (directed by Chan Wai Cheang) showcases the Salako people. “I think understanding and studying any role is essential for me, be it the lead female role or not. My goal is to always dive deeper into the character and let the character speak for itself on screen,” she adds.

#5 | She was once an intern at Astro HLive.

After pursuing Mass Communications at UiTM Alor Gajah, Ahirine took an internship at Astro HLive. “I guess I officially made the leap after my internship at Astro HLive where I was offered to be the TV’s broadcast journalist”, she quips. Ahirine has definitely come a long way since then — from ‘Gol & Gincu Vol. 2’ to her latest roles.
