‘Tis the season of love… and we’re truly basking in it! In the midst of our recent shoot for Lifestyle Asia KL’s February digital cover — surrounded by idyllic shades of pink and red — the air was filled with a scent so fruity and floral; so citrusy and romantic. We had sprinkled, all around the space, the latest offering from Kate Spade fragrances: Chérie Eau De Parfum. Imbued with notes of currant and raspberry, Chérie is the perfect sweet scent to celebrate this month of love.
We sit with our three cover stars — Kim May Chee of COCOdry, Jessica Chaw of Lilian’s Cake House and Josephie Yap of Fondest — and get a glimpse of the ideal affair that they would wear Chérie out to.
Josephine Yap
For Josephine, a spritz of Chérie is perfect for a lunch date or a garden wedding, or if she wants a little extra boost. “It fits whenever I need a little spirit lift,” she tells us — it’s no surprise that due to its floral notes, Josephine finds herself drawn to the vision of gardens from the scent alone. “Even when I’m spending an evening alone at home, it’s a great warm scent. That’s just what it makes me feel.”
Kim May Chee
Kim would put on a dash of Chérie on more special occasions. Because of the harmonious nature of the fragrance, Kim wants to feel like the belle of the ball as she brings in the striking balance between Chérie’s playful and sweet undertones. “A celebratory night,” she announces, after some thought. “Dinner party — that’s the vibe for me!”
Jessica Chaw
For Jessica — ever the romantic — simply wearing Chérie is a grand gesture in itself. “A romantic date night,” she says, “because the fragrance smells very elegant.” Sweet pea, rose absolute and white jasmine — these are all what make up the floral notes of Chérie, and we totally understand Jessica on this. A night of blossoming romance, a rekindling of love… this is what the scent was made for!
