Bruno Mars is officially returning to Malaysia this September

Hold on to your Versace before it slinks to the floor because American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is set to make his return back to Malaysia with a concert this coming September!

Talk about live entertainment, and Malaysia is certainly not hurting for global acts on this year’s events itinerary, as evidenced by a litany of stars such as Dua Lipa and Lany who will be making their way to local shores in the near months ahead. And that trend isn’t likely to let up anytime soon, with local events organisers LiveNation.my confirming that 15-time Grammy-award-winning hitmaker Bruno Mars will be adding Kuala Lumpur to his roundup of concert stops for the later part of this year.

Bruno Mars confirms upcoming concert in Malaysia this September

Set to take place on 17th September 2024 (Tuesday), his performance will be staged at the Kuala Lumpur National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. According to the official Instagram post for the concert, ticket presales will begin on 27th June from 10am onwards up until 11.59pm. On the other hand, general ticket sales will be made available on the following day at 10am onwards until they are sold out.

At this point, details concerning the seat map and ticket pricing have yet to be released. However, if you are looking to nab pre-sale access, all you’ll have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Register a free Live Nation MY membership through this link.
  2. Login into your Live Nation MY account ahead of the presale and search for the event on the website.
  3. Select ‘BUY TICKETS’ on the ‘Live Nation Presale’ page when the button is activated at the stipulated time.
  4. You will then be directed to the ticket purchasing page, where you can complete your transaction.
  5. Remember that you will also need an active GoLive Asia account to purchase tickets!

This will mark the star’s return to Kuala Lumpur since his 24K Magic World Tour back in 2018, which most notably took place on polling day for the 14th General Elections.

Born in Hawaii, Bruno Mars’ rise has been nothing short of meteoric, having first found glimmers of success as a songwriter in Los Angeles before transitioning into a solo career with feature vocals on several commercially successful singles from the 2010s, such as B.o.B’s Nothin’ on You and Travie McCoy’s Billionaire. But it would be his debut album,  Doo-Wops & Hooligans, that would cement his star power through a litany of number-one songs, including several perennial classics such as Grenade and Just The Way You Are.

Going from strength to strength, his third studio album, 24k Magic, stormed the Grammy Awards with seven major wins, including for Album of The Year, Record of The Year, and Song of The Year. His last project back in 2021, An Evening With Silk Sonic, was equally well-received, nabbing four Grammy Awards and spawning the chart-topping single Leave The Door Open. Most recently, he is working on his fourth studio album, which is set to debut a new sound and aesthetic for the 38-year-old.
