Honouring her impressive 20-year journey ever since she clinched the title of Malaysian Idol, the acclaimed local artist, Jaclyn Victor, has made an exciting announcement: her very first solo concert in KL, set to take place this coming October.
Jaclyn Victor, born into an average family in Kepong, with the full name Jaclyn d/o Joshua Thanaraj Victor, catapulted to stardom after her win in the first season of the popular talent show Malaysian Idol. This significant victory earned her a lucrative recording contract with the renowned music company, Sony BMG Entertainment, and transformed the once ordinary girl into a national sensation overnight.
Her triumphant journey on Malaysian Idol, where she received an overwhelming 76% of the audience votes against her competitor, Dina Nadzir, saw her delivering a heartfelt performance of the ballad Gemilang (Glory). This song, exclusively written for the winner of the reality show, became a significant feature on her eponymous debut album.
Said debut album quickly achieved gold status following its release, a testament to her talent and popularity. Moreover, her prior album, titled ‘Dream’, sold out within just a few days of its release, despite a significant increase in its price.
Boasting an array of awards and accolades, Victor has consistently aimed to reach new heights and has successfully put Malaysia on the international music map. Among her notable achievements was the victory at the Asian Music Festival that took place in Shanghai back in 2005.
Jaclyn Victor’s first solo concert in KL slated for this October
Marking her two-decade journey since her landmark triumph in Malaysian Idol, the multi-award-winning artist is gearing up to host her debut solo concert in KL. The concert is slated to take place on 12 October 2024, at 8 PM at Zepp KL. Fans can eagerly anticipate Victor performing a selection of her biggest hits that include Gemilang, Di Bawah Pohon Asmara, Ikut Rentakku, Satu Harapan, and Jagalah Diri.
While specific ticket details have yet to be announced at the time of this publication, Victor has revealed that tickets will be made available for purchase on Livepass Asia’s official website.
