The August 2024 edition of #LSADrinks continues to take a look at the most exciting events and launches happening in Malaysia and beyond. Whether it’s the launch of a new campaign by Connor’s or the collaboration between The St. Regis KL and Park90, there’s just so much to look forward to in the world of ABV. Penang Cocktail Week returns for the second year
From 1 to 8 September 2024, George Town in Penang is the place to be for all cocktail aficionados. Following last year’s debut, Penang Cocktail Week will be making a comeback in 2024. It has previously been unveiled that the Headline Partners include Jameson, Roku Gin, Rémy Martin and Jura Whisky. In addition, the Official Vermouth Partner will be Cucielo Vermouth Di Torino.
Throughout the week, look forward to more than 60 events — comprising over 80 bartenders. In addition to Malaysian bars such as Penrose, Reka, Bar Trigona, Here & Now and Haiiro Usagi, Penang Cocktail Week 2024 will also see internationals bars like Jigger & Pony, Coa and Bar Sathorn. Oh there’s also Taiwan Takeover with bars like Bar Lonely, Wa-Shu and Vender participating.

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur launches collaboration with Park90 Kuala Lumpur
Wine enthusiasts rejoice because The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is upping the ante on the scene here in Malaysia. In the evening, guests can now head over to The Drawing Room in the hotel for fine wines specially curated by Park90 Kuala Lumpur. At the centre of the wine lounge is Fernando Botero’s “Horse”, a monumental sculpture commissioned for the space. Here, look forward to a wide array of options from all across the world — curated by an industry-leading team of sommeliers from Park90. On its wine menu, expect more than 530 labels with a Coravin Wine Selection planned for the future. Savour the likes of Screaming Eagle and Sassicaia while enjoying Executive Chef Azizi Taslim’s exclusive menus.

Connor’s unveils new “Connor’s x YOU” campaign
Connor’s, the Makers of Good Times, has announced the launch of its latest campaign called “Connor’s x YOU: Makers of Good Times”. Throughout the period, the brand will be taking over 16 pubs and bars throughout Malaysia with DJs and of course, the beloved Connor’s Stout Porter. The 16 locations include spots in the Klang Valley, Sarawak, Penang, Johor, Perak and Melaka. Take the opportunity to win some Connor’s merchandise by participating in its Shake Ritual and Perfect Pour challenges.
Speaking about prizes, you can also get your hands on Insta360 X4 bundle sets (Connor’s is giving away 200 units) by doing the following steps. First, head over to participating outlets in Malaysia and purchase either a half pint or a can (one entry) or a full pint (two entries) of Connor’s Stout Porter. If you’re at a participating supermarket, you can also take part with a four-can pack being five entries while one can equals to one entry.
