American fast-food chain A&W returned to Singapore with much fanfare after a 16-year absence in 2019 via their flagship store at Jewel Changi Airport. Also choosing the establishment for its first store in Singapore is the American fast-casual burger chain Shake Shack. Both eateries saw snaking queues in its first few months of operations.

It’s no surprise that Jewel Changi Airport is an ideal opening location for new-to-Singapore brands. Upcoming eateries to debut in Singapore for the first time include Ipoh Town, which offers traditional Ipoh dishes, and Royal Host, a Japan-founded family restaurant chain. The latter serves Yōshoku, a type of Western-style cuisine that’s adapted to Japanese tastes.

Within Jewel Changi Airport is Kantin, a restaurant that serves authentic Bornean cuisine from Sarawak, Borneo with a modern twist. This opening also marked it as Singapore’s first establishment to offer Bornean cuisine.

Furthermore, night owls can grab supper in a handful of late-night dining options at Jewel Changi Airport. Starbucks and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf are open 24 hours (the former only on Fridays and weekends). In addition, Beauty in the Pot and Tan Yu Exclusive are open till late daily.
