It’s reunion and gifting season with The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey

Enveloped in the spirit of gifting this reunion season? Consider The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey, created in partnership with Nini Sum.

Life’s all about capturing the moments and making the most of what you have; be it with yourself or with loved ones. Big or small, everything is worth celebrating! And, if you’re a whisky enthusiast, you’d be happy to know that The Macallan is introducing something truly special — one perfect for celebratory occasions; especially for reunions this Lunar New Year. Meet The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey, a multi-dimensional release created to personify the all-important adventure.

Designed to be the ideal gift for all kinds of occasions, the series was first launched with The Macallan A Night On Earth in Scotland back in 2021. Now, as we enter the Year of the Dragon in 2024, The Macallan has unveiled the second limited edition release in the collection. The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey isn’t just another luxurious gift but a one-of-a-kind concoction that elevates the celebratory affair — especially for gatherings with friends and family this coming Lunar New Year.

This time, The Macallan has teamed up with Nini Sum (a Chinese mixed media artist) to create something unparalleled for the best gifting experience. Multi-layered and alluring, The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey is conceived to embody the multiple levels in a journey. The Macallan’s Global Creative Director Jaume Ferras said it best: “This is the perfect whisky to savour at special moments, best enjoyed with friends, family and loved ones while reminiscing of the year past and looking to the future”.

Now, let’s get to know the special whisky (with 43% ABV) a little more starting with the packaging. Like the many layers of relationships we have with those around us, the same goes for A Night On Earth The Journey. From fireworks and stars lighting up the night sky and cloudy mountains during the day to the lantern lights symbolised by orange and yellow hues, the entire conception of the release is imbued with meaning.

Even the very characteristics of The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey allude to the occasion of coming together. Crafted by the distillery’s Whisky Mastery Team, the sun-rise gold liquid comprises the blending of American ex-bourbon casks with sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. Expect notes of coconut milk pudding, creamy steamed rice and oat biscuits on the nose as well as hints of sweet vanilla on the palate — flavours that are synonymous to the Malaysian palate.

Nini Sum on the whisky: “During this time of the year, people who work in big cities go through the world’s largest annual human migration to go back to their hometowns for that moment of reunion with their families and friends. When the fire is lit inside and paper lanterns hang from the roof, you know there is someone there waiting for you to come home so they can welcome you with a hot meal and a hug”.

And we sure need a tight embrace every now and then. Sometimes physical or even in a more experiential manner such as the pop-up at the entrance lobby of The Starhill KL. Happening from 25 January to 4 February 2024, The Macallan will be hosting “A Night on Earth — The Journey”. Here, whisky enthusiasts can get up close and personal with The Macallan A Night On Earth The Journey. Each 45-minute session allows guests to understand the limited-edition whisky a little better. If you’re interested, remember to register for a slot HERE beginning 15 January 2024.
