As competing nations unveiled their opening ceremony uniforms, there is already considerable buzz around the fashion at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Not to mention, with athletes coming to be appreciated, hired (take a cursory look at SKIMS’ Instagram page) and paid for their style in waves these days, they are quickly becoming the MVPs of fashion off the field.

Though everyone wants to dress and look as cool as F1 racing legend Lewis Hamilton and strike a million-dollar deal with Dior Men, in this piece we have narrowed our list down to the most stylish athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

10 most stylish athletes who deserve a gold medal for their style

Here are our top picks of sports stars we are digging for their fashion chops, besides their impressive athletic skills.

Nationality: British
Sport: Diver

First up on our list of the most stylish athletes of this generation is the bonafide cutie Tom DaleyWith his love for knitting and crocheting, the British diver has been making a splash (pun not intended) in the fashion world. This year’s Olympics are no different, with Daley, once again, being photographed knitting in the stands.

The Olympic champion’s Instagram is also abuzz with the vibrant, bespoke knitwear pieces, ranging from scarves to cardigans, that he makes. While knitwear has become the hallmark of his unique fashion sense, he has a rather cool, gender-neutral take on street style as well.

Clearly, Daley is redefining what it means to be a style icon in the world of sports.

2. Carlos Alcaraz

Nationality: Spanish
Sport: Tennis

Carlos Alcaraz’s clout as a fashion icon in the making is on the rise. The young Spanish prodigy is not only making waves on the tennis court but also turning heads with his effortless style. Off-duty, Alcaraz can be seen in relaxed, laid-back fits, often pairing graphic t-shirts with distressed denim and sleek sneakers. On the court, he brings a cool edge with his Nike outfits that often feature bold colours, graphics and stripes. Add a touch of his chunky watches and signature wristbands and you have got yourselves an Alcaraz-trademarked ensemble.

On the front of fashion collaborations, the Spaniard stripped down last year for a Calvin Klein underwear campaign.

He was later onboarded as the face of Louis Vuitton’s 2024 men’s spring and summer collection, posing in a long-sleeved silk pyjama shirt and pants, a cotton overshirt and a striking red leather varsity jacket.

3. Novak Djokovic

Next, we have another tennis prodigy on the list.

For more than a decade, Novak Djokovic has been serving up a unique blend of sophistication and street style with his fashion choices. On the court, he’s known for his sleek, high-tech Adidas, Lacoste and Nike outfits, often featuring bold colours and innovative fabrics. Off the field, Djokovic’s style is pretty refined, with a penchant for tailored suits, crisp white shirts and luxurious leather accessories.

He’s also not afraid to take risks, often wearing bright colours, bold patterns and statement pieces like the Lacoste bomber jackets he seems to swear by.

With his chiselled good looks and confident swagger, Djokovic pulls off even the most daring of fashion choices with ease, making him one of the most stylish athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Nationality: South Korean
Sport: Shooting

This South Korean shooter has become an overnight celebrity, and not just for her sporting prowess. She might have won silver at the women’s 10-metre air pistol event, but Kim Yeji really won gold in our hearts for her “main character energy”, with a devastatingly cool demeanour that’s almost impossible to imitate.

Although she doesn’t yet have brand endorsements, the South Korean sharpshooter’s bob that’s tucked beneath a black backwards-facing cap, Terminator-style glasses, daughter’s elephant plushie charm, and complete nonchalance about breaking world records has earned her the title of most stylish athlete at the 2024 Paris Olympics, not to mention the title of “the coolest person ever”.

5. Harmanpreet Singh

Another dashing Indian dude who is impressing fans with his rugged persona is Harmanpreet Singh. The hockey champion’s sartorial sense is a good mix of modern trends and classic elegance. A fan of the monochromatic style, Singh is often seen sporting tone-on-tone outfits that accentuate his athletic build. And when he is not doing that, he is wearing tailored suits and Indian formals.

His accessories game is also on point, with a visible fondness for statement watches and sleek sunglasses. Not to mention, Singh’s stylishly quiffed-up locks and well-groomed beard add a touch of rugged charm to his overall appearance.

Handsome and hunky, American swimmer Bobby Finke is here to take the fashion world by storm… in time. Right now, the swimming sensation’s fashion sense is a chill blend of California cool and athletic comfort. When he dresses up, however, Finke cleans up quite nicely, rocking tailored suits and crisp white shirts that are paired with formal sweaters. His signature shaggy hair adds a touch of surfer-dude charm to his look, making him a fine example of West Coast cool.

7. Gianmarco Tamberi

Of course, his impeccable style only adds to his congeniality. The charismatic Italian high jumper brings a dash of sophistication to the world of athletics, with his fashion sense being a sleek blend of Italian flair and modern aesthetics. He’s often seen sporting clean outfits featuring statement pieces like patterned shirts, slim-fit trousers and smart leather jackets.

However, what truly sets him apart is his confident, expressive personality, which shines through in every outfit. Whether he’s clearing heights or turning heads on the streets of Milan, Tamberi’s style is worthy of a gold medal.

8. Arthur Mariano

Jacked up and chiselled to photoshopped perfection, Brazilian gymnast Arthur Mariano flips his way into the fashion scene with a style that’s as cool as his skills on the floor. Off the mat, Mariano’s fashion game is a vibrant fusion of Brazilian boldness and urban edge. He’s often spotted in statement-making outfits like muscle t-shirts featuring bright colours and bold graphics. His love for accessories is also evident in his chunky sneakers, trendy hats and eye-catching pearl chains. Little wonder then, that he’s one of the most stylish athletes at the 2024 Olympics.

Simply put, Mariano’s style strikes the right balance between athleticism and attitude.

Oh Sang-uk, who won the gold medal in the men’s sabre fencing event on 27 July, is as sharp with his style as he is with his blade. The South Korean fencer has a keen eye for clean silhouettes with a dash of K-pop edge. He’s also seen wearing bright-coloured, statement-making outfits on his social media.
