#Bejewelled: Mew Suppasit’s favourite FRED Paris picks

In conjunction with the recent opening of the new FRED boutique at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur, our August digital cover star Mew Suppasit shares his favourite picks from FRED Paris’ extensive jewellery collections.

The air was in chaos last week when Thai megastar Mew Suppasit dropped in at the brand new FRED boutique at The Exchange TRX in KL. As a Friend of the Brand, Mew’s special appearance only made the grand opening that much grander — and also charmed the hearts of his many fans that came to support the event. During our recent August digital cover shoot with Mew, we asked him about some of his favourite pieces from the French luxury jeweller.

Top picks from FRED Paris, according by Mew Suppasit:

Force 10 bracelet

The Force 10 collection is iconic for many reasons. Timeless, modern, and adaptable — the unisex aesthetic of FRED’s Force 10 is an everyday wear while also standing out as elegant pieces. The signature Force 10 bracelet, which Mew was seen sporting at the main event, features a braided steel sailing cable and a gold buckle. “In everyday looks, I think I kind of ‘match’ more with white gold,” Mew expresses. “I think it’s easy to mix and match with. Especially with a black and white outfit, so that’s why. But for events, I prefer yellow gold.”

Pain de Sucre or “Sugarloaf” ring

Ah, the beauty of interchangeable rings! As someone who enjoys switching up his looks based on mood, place, or even the weather, it’s unsurprising that Mew is drawn to FRED’s Pain de Sucre collection. Since the rings’ cabochons (gemstones) can be changed and ‘switched up’ with another, Mew loves that he can tailor the piece to match his mood. On top of that, as our official ‘Sunshine Boy’, it’s apt that the cabochons change according to the variations of sunlight and brightness, making the colours truly unique. “It’s like you can see the image of a beach and the sea,” Mew says, marvelling at the turquoise and yellow gold Sugarloaf ring.

Chance Infinie necklace

Also worn by Mew at the grand opening of the new FRED boutique at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur, the Chance Infinie necklace is a glinting paragon of jewellery. Delicately crafted from 18K white gold and 543 brilliant cut diamonds, the necklace is made for the lover of diamonds — which, of course, Mew also is.
