A look at the timepieces from Anant Ambani’s watch collection that prove time is indeed money

Earlier this month, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, was seen wearing a highly rare watch. The timepiece that caught everyone’s eye was the RM 27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal from Richard Mille.

This watch, sported by Anant Ambani is reported to cost a whopping 1.5 million dollars. That’s not all, The RM 27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal is a limited edition timepiece and there are reportedly only 50 pieces in the world.

Ambani is in the news these days due to his extravagant wedding festivities. The scion is set to marry Radhika Merchant on July 12. Last weekend, pop superstar Justin Bieber flew into Mumbai to perform at the couple’s sangeet ceremony. Earlier this year, Rihanna had also performed at a pre-wedding extravaganza organised by the Ambani family at Jamnagar.

Like most scions, Anant Ambani has a fancy and expensive watch collection. According to media reports, the businessman’s watch collection is priced at a jaw-dropping Rs 200 crores (approx. RM111,772,400).

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 43

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 43 is crafted with stainless steel and black ceramics and is powered by Calibre 4401. The smoked taupe “Méga Tapisserie” dial, the refined finishing and the rubber strap make it the ideal timepiece. The white gold Royal Oak hands have a luminescent coating and the black inner bezel makes it look appealing. This is the timepiece that Ambani wore during one of his meetings with Justin Beiber who performed at his wedding.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1422G White Gold, Diamond and Ruby

The Patek Philippe Nautilus Travel Time is said to be the perfect timepiece for the travelling businessman which seems perfect given Anant Ambani’s love for watches. The watch offers a dual time zone mechanism and runs on the CH 28-520 C calibre with a 55-hour power reserve. It is a stunning timepiece and one of the most expensive Nautilus models, adorned as it is with baguette-cut diamonds, and rubies and set in 18k white gold. It costs approximately 11 crores (approx. RM6.1 million) according to media reports.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1422G

This particular watch worn by Anant Ambani during an event is extremely rare and was supposedly released by Patek Philippe in secret in 2021. The bezel and middle links of the version owned by Ambani are set with precious emerald baguettes and also feature hour-makers crafted with emeralds. According to @ifuckinglovewatches on Instagram, the wristwatch retails at around $1,500,000.

The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300G-010

Besides its exorbitant retail price, what makes this timepiece stand out is that is the most complicated Patek Philippe wristwatch ever made, boasting 20 complications, a reversible case, two independent dials and six patented innovations according to the brand’s website. It took almost 100,000 hours to create this masterpiece which now finds pride of place in Anant Ambani’s watch collection. According to media reports, the watch was allegedly sold for nine million dollars.

The Richard Mille RMS-10 Tourbillon Koi Fish

This would have to be our favourite in Anant Ambani’s watch collection. Intricately designed, the Richard Mille RMS-10 Tourbillon Koi Fish is made with 18K rose gold and diamonds. That’s not the best part, however – the timepiece boasts 3D Koi fish that look like they are swimming around the watch’s gears and hands. According to media estimates, the watch is prized at roughly 1.25 million dollars.
