Sunway Lagoon, a must-visit theme park in Malaysia, is at the top of our list. Located in Sunway City, a mere 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the park offers the ultimate amusement park experience within its expansive area, which is divided into six different adventure zones.

Regardless of your preference for roller coasters, water slides, or haunted houses, the park ensures a day of fun, filled with screams and laughter. With its array of exciting attractions, including one of the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridges and Asia’s first Nickelodeon water theme park, it’s the perfect destination for all ages, from the youngest members of your family to the oldest.

Sunway Lagoon even hosts an annual Halloween-themed event, Nights of Fright. This includes haunted houses, a haunted theatre, scare zones, thrill rides, and fantastic show stages, all designed to get your heart racing. During this event, Sunway Lagoon transforms into a spooky space where you can encounter creepy spirits, demons, zombies, clowns, and even characters from your favourite horror movies!

How to get there: Assuming that you’re travelling from Kuala Lumpur City Centre, take the train from KLCC LRT Station, get off at USJ7 Station and hop on the BRT. Alight at the SunMed BRT Station after three stops. A short stroll will land you at Sunway Lagoon.

Ticket prices: For Malaysians – RM160 for adults aged 13 and above, RM135 for senior citizens and children aged 12 and below. For International Travellers – RM225 for adults aged 13 and above, RM190 for senior citizens and children aged 12 and below.

The park is divided into two areas: the Galaxy Station and the Fantasy Garden, which cater to adults and children, respectively. The Galaxy Station is a haven for those seeking a thrill, featuring rides like the Supersonic Odyssey that promise to get your adrenaline running. The Fantasy Garden, on the other hand, is a vibrant and interactive space that appeals to kids and their parents.

How to get there: If you’re coming from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, board either bus 300 or 303 from the KLCC LRT Station (KL94). Get off at the Berjaya Central Park stop (KL99) and take the monorail from Bukit Nanas Station. After three stops, disembark at Imbi Station. A brief walk will bring you to Berjaya Times Square Shopping Mall, where the theme park is located.

Ticket prices: For Malaysians – RM60 for adults 13 and older, RM50 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. For International Travellers – RM75 for adults 13 and older, RM70 for children between the ages of 3 and 12.

VAR Live

For those who love video games, VAR Live is the place to be. This indoor amusement park, situated conveniently in MyTown Shopping Centre, is the largest VR theme park in Malaysia. It boasts 13 exhilarating VR experiences developed in-house, including Crazy Rush and Zombie Jail. Leveraging cutting-edge Virtual Reality technology, you can expect to plunge into the riveting universe of virtual reality in their dynamic game arena.

How to get there: Starting from KLCC LRT Station, alight at Pasar Seni Station after four stops and switch to the MRT line. Four stops later, get off at Cochrane Station. The short walk of less than 300 metres will take you to MyTown Shopping Centre.

Ticket prices: The pricing varies based on the number of games. It’s RM108 per player for three games, RM120 per player for four games, and RM200 per player for an unlimited day pass.

SplashMania Waterpark is an eye-catching amusement park, recognisable by its monumental pirate ship that can be seen from miles away near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The park, situated in Gamuda Cove, boasts an impressive 39 distinct features including some revolutionary water slides! One of the must-try experiences here is the Atlantis VR, which is Malaysia’s first-ever virtual reality water slide. Another notable attraction is the Shaka Waka, a 78-meter-long water slide that offers a unique experience with adjustable LED lights and music.

How to get there: To get there, take a brief walk from KLCC LRT Station to the Putrajaya MRT line at Persiaran KLCC Station. Once there, board the train and head to the Cyberjaya Utara stop. From there, a 15-minute taxi ride will take you directly to SplashMania Waterpark.

Ticket prices: For online purchases only, tickets are priced at RM125 for adults and RM95 for children. Every SplashMania ticket purchase also comes with a complimentary adventure pack or nature pack.

District 21 is an innovative indoor adventure park with a post-apocalyptic theme. Situated within IOI City Mall, the park spans across a 70,000 square feet indoor atrium and features an exciting selection of 10 adventure attractions and obstacle courses.

The park offers a range of activities from climbing, sliding, riding, jumping, free-falling to flying. It caters to all abilities, with options from the simple Tubby Ride and Yoyo Car to more challenging courses like the Ninja Warrior and Roller Glider. Visitors are welcome to take on these challenges at their own pace and can spend time at the IOI City Mall after their thrilling adventure at the park.

How to get there: To reach District 21, walk from KLCC LRT Station to the Putrajaya MRT line at Persiaran KLCC Station. Then, take the train to the UPM stop. From there, a quick taxi ride will bring you straight to IOI City Mall, where District 21 is located.

Ticket prices: Admission rates for walk-ins during weekdays are RM64, while tickets for weekends and public holidays are RM80. Tickets purchased from their website are priced at RM70.

For those seeking a rush of adrenaline, the Adventure Zone with its racing tracks, tube slides, and many additional activities comes highly recommended.

How to get there: Avenue K Shopping Mall is conveniently connected to the KLCC LRT station, and you can find yourself on the Concourse Level as soon as you leave the station.

Ticket prices: If you purchase tickets through their website, they are priced at RM59 per person, not including grip socks. With grip socks included, the package price is RM65 per person.

Skyline Luge is a newly-opened attraction in Malaysia offering a unique and thrilling hillside adventure rather than a traditional theme park experience. This popular attraction features a luge ride where participants can race down winding tracks while navigating downhill slopes.

Before starting the downhill ride, participants must first ascend the hill via the Skyride, a four-seater chairlift similar to those used in ski resorts. A variety of four specially crafted tracks are available, featuring twists, turns, tunnels, and slopes, offering an exhilarating experience both day and night.

How to get there: To get to Skyline Luge, walk from KLCC LRT Station to the Putrajaya MRT line at Persiaran KLCC Station. Then take the train to Sungai Buloh stop. From there, take the T154 feeder bus to Gamuda Luge Gardens where Skyline Luge is located.

Ticket prices: Skyline Luge offers a variety of combo packages. The most affordable package costs RM47.50 per adult. There is also a tandem option for one adult and one child at RM72.50. The most popular combo at Skyline Luge however is the Skyride + 5 luge ride combo, priced at RM76 per adult, with the tandem option costing RM101.
