Stay in these eco-friendly hotels in Copenhagen, one of the greenest cities in the world

If you didn’t already know, the earth is not flat and we are facing serious global warming issues. Every action done in hopes of a more sustainable future helps, from purchasing sustainable fashion to using vegan beauty brands. We’ve previously introduced several EarthCheck-certified hotels in Asia for you to try out, but to truly experience sustainability at its best, you need to check out these eco-friendly hotels in Copenhagen.

There are several green cities in Europe and Copenhagen is one of the best ones to travel to. After all, they were the first city in the world to make Green Roof Policies mandatory. Because of how cars are not encouraged in the city, Copenhagen was also appointed by the International Cycling Union (UCI) to be the world’s first Bike City from 2008 to 2011. Finally, if that doesn’t convince you enough, the city was crowned European Green Capital in 2014.

The list of green activities that one can do in Copenhagen is endless. Dine in organic restaurants and shop for organic products, then travel around town on either a bicycle or battery-operated public buses. But most importantly, stay in one of these eco-friendly hotels in Copenhagen.

By helping out with their cause and being an eco-conscious tourist, you’re also doing your part in saving the planet. We can’t wait to see the city achieve its goal to be the world’s first carbon-neutral capital by 2025.

Crowne Plaza

One wouldn’t think that this modern business hotel is an eco-smart one, but in fact, the Crowne Plaza is one of Denmark’s leading sustainable buildings. The exterior is fitted with solar Photovoltaics (PV) panels and TripleLynx inverters to cut energy consumption by half, as compared to conventional hotels. The rooms are furnished with Paustian designer furniture made from recycled material, CO2-neutral air conditioning, and more. It doesn’t get any more sustainable than this.

Radisson Collection Hotel, Royal Copenhagen

This hotel was formerly known as the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, so don’t panic if you occasionally find a reference to the old name. It’s the first hotel in Copenhagen to receive the Nordic Swan eco-label, the official sustainability label for Nordic countries. The design is a huge feature of the Radisson, and it has won several awards including one from Wallpaper.
