Relationship timeline of Madeline Argy and Central Cee, and cheating rumours about Ice Spice
July 2022: Central Cee drops ‘Doja’, is it about Madeline Argy?
The London-based rapper dropped the hit song “Doja” in July 2022, and its chorus particularly stood out with fans who were quick to figure it could be about Argy. This was prompted by the first line, which goes: “How can I be homophobic? My b**** is gay”. This is because in 2021 Argy revealed on TikTok that she was bisexual, stating she has an ex-girlfriend.
Additionally, speaking to Genius, he had said his girlfriend was bisexual. These were clues enough for detective fans to join the dots. He said, “It’s literally what I say like I’m not homophobic, my girlfriend is bisexual. She was like the first gay person I really communicated with.”
Another clue came in July 2022 as Central Cee shared a video on Instagram wearing a blue hoodie with yellow letters from his Morocco trip.

Strangely enough, hawk-eyed fans spotted the same hoodie on Argy a couple of weeks later in a TikTok video. It might have been a coincidence, or was something brewing?
September 2022: Madeline Argy hints about dating Central Cee
Soon after “Doja” became a hit, Argy posted a video on TikTok, saying, “Why does everyone keep asking me if I’m dating Central Cee? I’ve literally never heard of him in my life.” However, the reality seemed a bit different. In the video shot in her kitchen, she wore a shirt which read, “I [heart emoji] lying,” and a man resembling Central Cee was also spotted by fans.
Fans took this as the couple’s way of confirming their relationship.
March 2023: Central Cee and Madeline Argy are seen together
Although they began dating in 2022, post the September video, the two became even more private about their relationship. However, outside social media, Argy and Central Cee were spotted together regularly, as they did not hide from fans. In fact, when she was seen with him on the last dates of his tour in Los Angeles, it left fans believing they were so much in love.
June 2023: They make TikTok together
Who wouldn’t want to be all comfy and dancing with their beau? That’s what the TikTok star did with her rapper partner. In a video posted by Central Cee, the two are seen dancing wearing tracksuits as he takes a chain from her neck and places it around his. The video transitions to another clip and ends with them snuggling romantically.

A major turn in the relationship timeline of Central Cee and Madeline Argy came on 27 September 2023. Argy appeared on an episode of Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper, and confirmed she and Central Cee are no longer together. Going into the details, she clarified, “I made the final call.”
She revealed they met in 2021, and ever since, they have been in a sort of entanglement. There “was a lot of back and forth” in a “toxic fun way” that was very addictive. Despite having repeated conversations about how the relationship wasn’t good for them, the two would always come back and start afresh, until Argy made a new friend who made her a good person. She also put an end to the speculations about how their relationship was a publicity stunt. “The thing that nobody actually believes is that it wasn’t PR. If it was PR I probably would’ve posted him more than three f****** times,” she said, adding, “We kept it secret for quite a while.”
The same month, Argy told Nylon Magazine, “From the get-go that was private, and really that only went out publicly because people discovered it. I could have done more to squash it than I did. We posted that one video where we were together in my kitchen, which was intentional obviously.”
“It’s not really a bad breakup,” she said, adding, “It’s more of a joyous situation for me.”
December 2023 and July 2024: Madeline Argy and Central Cee are rumoured to be back together

On 12 July, Argy took to TikTok to share a five-part video series, telling her side of the story and addressing rumours of Central Cee cheating on her.
Firstly, commenting on the music video collaboration, she said, “I did not know that any of this […] was going to happen.”
“Let me take you guys back a couple of months. I’m laid up in bed and [Central Cee] comes to me and he’s like, ‘I have a new song to show you.’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, serenade me!’ And then he plays me his verse. I’m like…not only did you just snitch on yourself that you’re cheating, but you just told me exactly how,” she said.
The verse she is referring to goes:
“I’m selective with who I get with
Gyal on my phone tryna see who I slept with
She investigating, detective
Lucky for me, I deleted the message
All along, it was me and a bad bitch
But I told her it was me and my bredrin.”
Argy said that when confronted, he said that the lyrics should not be trusted and it was all a part of a larger marketing stunt. He even told her that he would hire an influencer to do a lip-syncing video to one of his older songs.
“He didn’t tell me he was sending her his personal car to start a dating rumour with her. I was with you guys knee-deep in that comment section [trying to work out what was going on.] We were still together [at that time],” she said.
All this happened just a few days before their Nigeria trip, and despite being cautious about not releasing any official photos, the images leaked. Argy said she realised she was now a part of Central Cee’s plot.
She also said that in mid-June 2024, she tried to speak to Central Cee but it was all in vain as he wouldn’t speak to her until 1 July. When that came around, the pictures of Ice Spice and Central Cee shopping were out.
“I didn’t even actually get to break up with him and he’s already with the next girl!” This was followed by the “Trouble” comment and the worst part was all of this took place ahead of Argy’s birthday.
