As the finale of House of the Dragon season 2 nears, the war between the Greens and the Blacks intensifies. There are new alliances, betrayals and battles in the offing that will shape the future of Westeros. We saw a massive dragon battle earlier in the season, and the last episode of the show promises even bigger battles that will kill off more major characters. Like Game of Thrones, HotD is also based on the fantasy world created by author George R. R. Martin. A spinoff and a prequel series, it is set two centuries before the events of GoT. What happens in House of the Dragon‘s latest episode?

In the seventh and latest episode of House of the Dragon, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy) is convinced of the loyalty of Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), the new rider of Seasmoke when he vows to serve her.

Mysaria (played by Sonoya Mizuno) helpfully informs the Queen that he has knowledge of several Dragonseeds or Targaryen bastards in King’s Landing. Many of them are brought to try and ride Vermithor, who promptly proceeds to burn almost all of them except for Hugh Hammer (played by Kieran Bew) and Ulf (played by Tom Bennett). While Hammer claims Vermithor, Ulf claims Silverwing.

Ulf, atop Silverwing, flies to King’s Landing, luring in Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) and Vhagar. But when the Prince spots the three dragons — Rhaenyra’s Syrax, Hugh’s Vermithor and Ulf’s Silverwing — he flees as the Queen watches, self-satisfied.

At Harrenhal, the Riverlords finally join King Consort Daemon Targaryen (played by Matt Smith), but not before the young Lord Oscar Tully, Lord Paramount of the riverlands, chastens Daemon for urging Lord Blackwood to commit war crimes against the Brackens. He also forces Daemon to kill Blackwood. Daemon, although angry, has no choice but to acquiesce as there is no other way to raise an army.
