Thai drama KinnPorsche (2022) is widely known declared one of the best BL shows in recent years. Thanks to its popularity, the lead actors bagged the brand ambassadorship of Dior Homme Thailand. The show is as sweet as it is viciously dark – murders, betrayal, rivalries, passion, and love reign high in the mafia world that Kinn (played by Mile Phakphum), the leader of a clan, must navigate with his bodyguard, Porsche (played by Apo Nattawin).
With an iQIYI rating of 9.8/10 and IMDb of 8.6/10, the R-rated scenes, a gripping storyline, grey characters and action scenes of the BL show catapulted lead Thai actors Phakphum and Nattawin to international fame. The most surprising factor was that KinnPorsche went all out to showcase the unapologetic desire of its characters. It was explicit in a way that rarely any other Thai BL show had ever been.
After the charm of Mile-Apo’s chemistry took over the Thai BL industry, fans began searching for more BL shows like KinnPorsche. While there cannot be another KinnPorsche, there are some shows that include a similar level of intensity, heat, and a thrilling storyline. Some of these are Thai crime thrillers Never Let Me Go (2022) and Not Me (2021), and the South Korean mini-series Long Time No See (2017).
