K-Pop star Jay Park announces he is officially now on OnlyFans

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, famed K-pop rapper Jay Park, best known for his stint as a member of b-boy crew Art of Movement (AOM) and South Korean boy band 2PM, has apparently confirmed that he has joined OnlyFans.

The 37-year-old, who witnessed an unlikely professional resurrection after being previously ‘blacklisted’ from the industry over his critical remarks about the South Korean entertainment industry, alluded to setting up an official account on the content subscription service with a post on his Instagram profile.

Jay Park on OnlyFans? Star confirms he has created an official account

While many creators are now turning to OnlyFans as a means to exercise more control over their content, the platform has yet to successfully shake off its previous associations with the adult entertainment industry. But of course, given Park’s propensity to push the envelope in his work, this is likely to be part of a larger promotional effort in line with the launch of his latest single, McNasty, and its accompanying music video.

A subsequent post appears to have confirmed this to be the case, with Park suggesting that those who subscribe to his OnlyFans platform will get to enjoy a ‘different version’ of the music video as compared to the one primed for release on other conventional digital platforms like YouTube. Fortunately, you won’t have to part ways with your coin to watch this OF exclusive, as his account is free to subscribe.

Aside from a single video and a teaser image for McNasty, his account features a choice few thirst-trap photos which are likely to delight vying fans. But otherwise, there isn’t anything particularly explicit to be found, which further affirms that his decision to join OnlyFans was devised as part of an unconventional marketing push.

Regardless of intent, this still effectively makes him arguably the very first prominent Korean celebrity to have an account on OnlyFans, setting a precedent for the notoriously guarded industry whose celebrity personas are meticulously crafted with unprecedented precision.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Park has been known to ruffle feathers within South Korean entertainment, especially given his professional resurrection as a solo artist after departing from 2PM over his critical remarks about the industry and its culture back in 2009. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength with a string of five commercially successful studio albums to his name, in addition to establishing two independent Korean hip-hop labels that have further cemented his role in nurturing the country’s hip-hop and R&B scene.
