A series with a massive following, House of the Dragon season 2 premiered on 16 June 2024. Since then, viewers have lapped up its every episode as they root for their favourite side: the Greens or the Blacks as Westeros engulfs itself in the civil war known as ‘Dance of the Dragons’. Layered, richly developed and diverse characterisation have always been a strong suit of this series which is a spinoff of HBO’s Game of Thrones. So won’t it be fun to analyse which House of the Dragon character resonates with your zodiac sign?

House of the Dragon character names and their zodiac signs

Aries — Prince Aemond Targaryen

The third child and second son of Alicent Hightower and King I Viserys, Aemond (played by Ewan Mitchell), is an ambitious, fiery and impulsive person who would stop at nothing until his goals are fulfilled. This one-eyed prince is fixated on sitting on the Iron Throne and rides the biggest dragon in Westeros, Vhagar. His characteristics correspond well with the cardinal fire sign of Aries ruled by the god of war, Mars. His impulsiveness and aggression make him a true Aries.

Taurus — Corlys Velaryon

Steve Toussaint essays the role of this House of the Dragon character. Corlys is known for his might and power as the Lord of the Tides in the House of the Dragon season 2. He is a formidable sailor and heads the strongest naval base in Westeros, Driftmark, a place whose significance diminished by the time of Game of Thrones. He is also a powerful advisor and ally to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Also known as Sea Snake, he could be categorised as a Taurean denoted by a celestial bull for many reasons.

The ruling planet of this zodiac is Venus, which denotes love and money. The bulls are known to work hard and accumulate fortune only to live well. Corlys comes from an old sea-faring family and boasts the fame and fortune he has created for himself and his loved ones. Known for his unpredictable nature, his relationships with other women suggest he belongs to the flirty air sign of Gemini.

Cancer — Criston Cole

Cancer is one zodiac sign that cannot get over a break-up easily. It is difficult for them to mend their heart after it is broken because they are ruled by the Moon, which controls their inner worlds. Criston (played by Fabien Frankel) was once romantically involved with Rhaenyra. However, he is still not over the relationship and hates Rhaenyra with a passion. He joined her enemies, the Greens, to get back at her.

Virgo — Queen Alicent Hightower

Alicent Hightower (played by Olivia Cooke) is Rhaenyra’s former best friend and stepmother. The zodiac sign of this House of the Dragon character is Virgo. She gave birth to a son, Aegon II, to King Viserys and truly believes that he is the rightful king and not Rhaenyra, who was nominated by the king himself. Her characteristics are befitting a Virgo because like this mutable earth sign, she is stable, has an intelligent mind and silently wields power. She is also a meticulous planner, another important Virgo trait, and a great advisor.

Libra — King Viserys Targaryen

Viserys (played by Paddy Considine) is the late king and father of Rhaenyra. He fared very well on the popularity charts in Westeros as a ruler and was known for his charming and well-balanced personality. These qualities form the crux of the personality of this Venusian air sign. His likeability and social acceptance make him an absolute Libra.

Scorpio — Otto Highwater

Otto (Rhys Ifans) is Alicent’s father. He is a wise and calculative House of the Dragon character. A loyalist and an expert manipulator, these traits distinguish him as an intelligent and intuitive water sign of Scorpio with a dark disposition.

Sagittarius — Rhaenys Targaryen

Rhaenys (played by Eve Best) was Corlys’s wife. Known for her beauty, curiosity, mischievousness and spontaneity, her personality corresponds well with the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius. Fun-loving and honest, she had a light persona and did not like to be tied down to one situation, another classic Sag trait. She even died on her own terms.

Capricorn — Jacaerys ‘Jace’ Velaryon

Larys (Matthew Needham) is a crooked character who loves to create drama, rile people up against each other, stir the pot and create a ruckus. He could be an Aquarian, as they are intelligent and love to be distant, using these traits to cause harm. They display a certain degree of aloofness towards their people which could be explained by how he masterminded a fire which killed his family members in season 1 of the series.

Pisces — Helaena Targaryen

This House of the Dragon character, Helaena (Phia Saban),  is a wife and sister of King Aegon. She has a personality that perfectly matches with the mutable water sign of the zodiac, Pisces. This sign, denoted by the fishes swimming in opposite directions, often has convoluted thoughts and goes through a lot of internal chaos. Behind their pleasing persona lies a mind which does not want to accept reality.

Helaena’s subsequent descent into madness after the murder of her son and her frequent visions might seem fantastical but often prove to be true.
