Malaysia hosts its first Global Wellness Day at The Exchange TRX, championing #MagentaNature.
Last Saturday, 8th June 2024, millions around the world celebrated the 13th annual Global Wellness Day, a visionary initiative founded by Belgin Aksoy. Observed every second Saturday of June, this global event inspires individuals to live healthier lives and raises awareness about the importance of well-being.
Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit movement that encourages people to reflect on their wellness practices and make positive changes. With the slogan “One day can change your whole life,” it serves as a powerful reminder that even a single day focused on health can have lasting impacts.
This year’s theme, #MagentaNature, highlights the transformative power of reconnecting with the natural world. It promotes four main pillars: eating natural foods, spending time outdoors, protecting the environment, and engaging in spiritual practices that foster a deep connection with nature.
Volunteers worldwide educated communities about the environment, led prenatal yoga and art therapy sessions for expecting mothers, conducted full moon yoga with medicine sound therapy, and shared traditional ecological knowledge.
Here’s what happened at Global Wellness Day 2024 at The Exchange TRX:
Malaysia marked a historic milestone as it welcomed a large scale Global Wellness Day at The Exchange TRX for the first time. Adding to the list of firsts, Kam Su-En – the founder of Hammam Spa – joined the esteemed list of supporters as the Global Wellness Day Ambassador for Malaysia for the global initiative.
In Malaysia, the event offered an array of activities designed to nurture the body, mind, and soul. Attendees participated in 9D transformational breath work, reiki, sound therapy, mindful meditation, Qigong, and sunset Yoga held at TRX City Park with ALO & L1vin as brand partners. The activities provided a comprehensive approach to wellness.
There was also vibrant marketplace brimming with many wellness vendors. From sampling treatments from various modalities (Ayurvedic, stretch physiotherapy to Thai), free henna tattoos from Hammam Spa to healthy nutritional drinks/snacks and aroma therapy products, the marketplace was a great place to expose many Malaysians to explore a diverse array of wellness products and services. The day truly became a celebration of holistic wellness.
Additionally, there were nature based activities for the kids: “Sketching in the Garden” by Meraki Studio & “Sayur in the City,” an edible gardening work-shop by Eats, Shoots, &Roots.
