What has happened in Red Swan so far?

Previously in the Disney Plus Hotstar K-drama, viewers meet the successful Wan-soo (played by Kim Ha-neul) and get insight into her charitable works through her foundation NOW. The episodes also throw light on her closeness with her bodyguard Seo Do-yoon (Rain) after he saves her from a brutal public attack.

In episode 7, Wan-Soo is devastated after her brother Hyeon-su’s (played by Kim Young-pil) arrest on false embezzlement charges. However, when she visits her brother in prison, he tells her that he has proof against Hwain Group and its current Chairman Park Mi-ran (played by Seo Yi-sook), and that they cannot harm. Elsewhere, Mi-Ran and her personal assistant and advisor Sang-il (played by Yoon Je-moon) suspect a love affair between Wan-soo and Do-yoon when Wan-Soo begs them to not harm Do-yoon saying that she would hand over the ledgers containing data of Hwain’s Slush funds to them after retrieving them from Do-yoon. Upon meeting, Wan-soo gets to know from Do-yoon that the ledgers do not have proof against her but Mi-ran and that Sang-il is lying to the latter. On the other hand, while conversing with his wife, Yong-min (played by Go Yoon), Mi-ran’s younger son, expressed his desire to take over Hwain Group and not have his brother Yong-guk (played by Jung Gyu-woon) become the heir.

Towards the end of the episode, Sang-Il suggests Mi-ran that they can cover up the embezzlement news with rumors of Wan-soo’s affair with Do-yoon. Planning the same, The two send Wan-soo to Busan with Do-yoon for Hwain Resort’s anniversary celebrations, stating that Wan-soo’s husband Yong-guk would join them after a meeting. Later, Sang-il meet their family lawyer to know about late Chairman and Mi-ran’s husband Kim Duo’s (played by Jo Won-hee) will. The lawyer then informs him that the will would only be made public on his 70th birthday. She also tells him that Duo has adjusted most funds towards Wan-soo’s NOW Foundation. Sang-il gets frustrated and orders contact killer K1 to attack Wan-soo once again, this time without fail. He also asks her to take pictures of Wan-soo and Do-yoon. Epiosde 7 ends with K1 sneaking inside Wan-soo and Do-yoon’s stay in Busan, in an attempt to kill the former.

In episode 8, Do-yoon gets severely injured but ends up saving Wan-soo from the attack. Meanwhile, the news of Wan-soo’s affair with Do-yoon gets viral. Following this, an enraged Yong-guk visits his mother and in a vulnerable confrontation lets her know that she shouldn’t have tailed his wife and framed her for Hwain’s benefit. He also confesses that he grew up broken because he always knew about Mi-ran’s affair with her advisor. A teary-eyed Yong-guk then informs his mother that it was because of his childhood traumas that he ended up cheating on Wan-soo and now has no idea how to let his true feelings out. He then visits Sang-il and tells him that he knows his brother Yong-min was born out of wedlock and is actually the latter’s son. Yong-guk leaves after warning Sang-il to stay away from Wan-soo. He also threatens to kill Sang-il and his son, if they plan any other attack on Wan-soo.

Towards the end of the episode, Yong-guk confronts Do-yoon and just when he is ready to shoot him, Wan-soo intervenes. In order to save Do-yoon’s life, she confesses that it’s her who loves Do-yoon, but the latter doesn’t. The episode then takes a time-jump. The Hwain family gathers together as the lawyers read Kim Duo’s will, a week later. In the final moments of the episode, viewers find Duo donating his KRW 18 million worth of slush funds to Wan-soo’s NOW Foundation.

In episodes 9 and 10, fans can likely expect the K-drama Red Swan to delve deeper into Do-yoon’s further plans to take down the Hwain Group and finally get together with Wan-soo.
